The heat treatment of M35 high-speed steel plays an important role in enhancing hardness, red hardness, wear resistance, and toughness. The heat treatment process generally consists of three stages: Annealing, Quenching, and Tempering. Each step is explained in more detail below:
The primary goal of heat treatment to anneal M35 is to soften the steel, which eliminates internal stress and can enhance the machinability.
In M35 heat treatment, Quenching is made by rapid cooling, its purpose is to increase the hardness, red
hardness and wear resistance of the steel.
In M35 heat treatment, tempering removes quenching stress and adjusts the hardness and toughness of steel at the same time, while ensuring red hardness and wear resistance.
