The heat treatment of M35 high-speed steel plays an important role in enhancing hardness, red hardness, wear resistance, and toughness. The heat treatment process generally consists of three stages: Annealing, Quenching, and Tempering. Each step is explained in more detail below:
The primary goal of heat treatment to anneal M35 is to soften the steel, which eliminates internal stress and can enhance the machinability.
In M35 heat treatment, Quenching is made by rapid cooling, its purpose is to increase the hardness, red
hardness and wear resistance of the steel.
In M35 heat treatment, tempering removes quenching stress and adjusts the hardness and toughness of steel at the same time, while ensuring red hardness and wear resistance.
High Hardness:
The hardness can be up to HRc 63-65 after heat treatment of M35, it can keep high hardness under high temperature, and it has very high wear resistance, which can be used under high temperature conditions for a long time.
High wear resistance:
M35 is able to exhibit very high wear resistance after heat treatment, it can show good cutting performance when cutting hard materials at high speed. Used to manufacture all kinds of high and ultra-hard saw blades, drill bits, taps, broaches, hobs, and high-load tools.
M35 high hardness can maintain good toughness and anti-cracking ability, can withstand greater impact force, can reduce collapse and cracking damage of the die cutting edge. It has good bending strength under high hardness and high impact loads.
You can regularly apply anti-rust oil or anti-rust layer on top of the steel surface so as to form a protective film to prevent rust. In coastal areas, coating can be used for steel to increase its corrosion resistance.
It should try to prevent M35 steel or cutting tools work for a long time of the red-hot temperature than the design Becauseona-term use, it will lead to low hardness and wear resistance. During the process, a suitable coolant can be used to control the processing temperature.
Long-term use of M35 tools, wear resistance of hardness, and they need to undergo re-heat treatment. The standard process of M35 steel should be strictly followed when reheat treatment, in order to restore the original performance of M35.
