ZDF-35 S35VN Martensitic Stainless Steel
S35VN Martensitic stainless steel is a superior grade, high-performance steel that performs exceptionally well for specific features such as wear resistance, toughness, and corrosion resistance. S35VN steel is composed of the elements from the periodic table, like Niobium and vanadium, that form carbides, which help enhance wear resistance in processes. This type of steel is hard and tough, is the first choice for various purposes, and is widely used in tools, cutting tools, and other high-strength, wear-resistant fields.

Heat Treatment of S35VN

Harding of S35VN

| Quench | Air or positive pressure quench (2 bar minimum) to below 50°C, or saltor interrupted oil quench to about 540°c, then air cool to below 50°C. |
| Temper | Double temper at 00-400'c,holding for 2 hours minimum each time.Freezing treatments can be used between the first and second tempersto attain maximum hardenability, and must always be followed by atleast one temper. |

Photo 2 (abroad), the carbide distribution is uneven, and the individual is large. Reason analysis: During the smelting process, the carbide can not be controlled well. In the late forging, although the forging ratio increases, it fails to make up for the defects of the smelting.
Photo3(ZhengDa=Zeicin) the modification of three technological processes of 1)EAF+LF+VD, 2) Special innovation smelting process of RS ESR, 3) transformation forging, so that it is obviously better than the imported ones. The carbide is small and uniform.
Photo 1 (domestic), the carbide individual is obviously large, and the processing will exhibit the phenomenon of detachment.
Photo 2 (abroad), The carbides are superior to domestic ones, but there are more angular carbides, and cracks and stress concentrations are easy to occur in use, leading to early failure.
