4Cr5MoSiV is a high-quality hot work tool steel with excellent toughness, heat resistance, and high hardenability. It is resistant to tempering and surface cracking, suitable for high-temperature applications.
It is mainly used for hot working knives, die inserts for presses and forging machines, screws, dies, molds for plastics, stamps, mandrels, punches, and copper rolling mills. The steel is also available in high-purity ESR or ESU grades for critical applications. Typically supplied in soft-annealed condition.
