H10 Tool Steel is a chromium-based hot work tool steel classified under ASTM A681. It is known for its excellent resistance to softening at elevated temperatures, making it ideal for high-heat applications. H10 Tool Steel can be heat-treated to higher hardness compared to tungsten-based hot work steels, while also offering better toughness.
With good thermal fatigue characteristics, H10 Tool Steel can be safely water-cooled during service, unlike tungsten-based hot work steels. It is widely used for demanding hot work tooling applications, such as hot punches, die casting dies, forging dies, hot shear blades, hot gripper dies, and extrusion tooling.
H10 Tool Steel provides the perfect balance of toughness and hardness for a variety of high-temperature applications.
